Question : Adrenaline can make an ordinary person do extraordinary things. What are the causes of an ‘adrenaline rush’ and the effects? Use specific details examples to support your answer.
Sometimes, people experience the adrenaline rush which brings extraordinary emotions. The hormone adrenaline is produced by the adrenal glands and this hormone is called the epinephrine (Alicia 2011). There are several causes and effects of adrenaline rush such as stressful situation and memory loss, respectively. This essay will illustrate the causes and effects of adrenaline rush in depth.
One of the main causes of adrenaline rush is a situation which evokes the negative emotions. Because the parts of the brain which process negative emotions also influence on the occurrence of adrenaline. Extreme exercise is another factor that triggers the adrenaline release. During exercise, muscles produce energy sources and this process makes a signal which indicates that the adrenal grand should supply more adrenaline. Finally, happy situations can also be the reason for adrenaline. For example, people who fall in love experience adrenaline rush because good feeling triggers the dopamine which effects to secrete adrenaline (Berit 2011).
There are also various effects of adrenaline rush and there are both detrimental effects and beneficial effects. First, adrenaline rush triggers the adrenergic neurons and these neurons include the enzyme PNMT which effect negatively on memory. This enzyme influences on part of the brain involved in the storage of memories and this process makes people can’t remember significant events. An adrenaline rush can also cause a heart failure, heart attack because adrenaline can lead to shrinkage of blood vessel. While adrenaline can effect on health detrimentally, appropriate levels of the hormones effect positively. For example, the hormone effects on reducing the degree of leptin which produce fat and accelerates the arise of cancer cells (Berit 2010).
In conclusion, adrenaline rush happens during the whole life because the causes of the hormone’s secretion are common things such as negative emotions and extreme exercise. Therefore, it is beneficial to develop treatments which make best use of adrenaline.
