In this era of globalization, rural schools are often underestimated by urban schools especially boarding schools. This is because the achievement of the village school is not satisfactory in terms of the achievement of the curriculum, the achievement of the examination and the quality of learning just to name a few. Therefore, many of the ways I did to change the views of the village school.
I attended SMK SRI NIPAH as a Form 5 student of 5 Science. First and foremost, the first thing I did to improve achievement of the study is study really hard in weak subjects such as Additional Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology just to name a few. I attend all the additional classes held by teachers to improve our knowledge because practice make perfect. With the knowledge I can pass my SPM examination with flying color. This is because by learning I really can improve the name of my school with the results of an excellent SPM examination.
Other than that, the things I did to change the oblique view of the school in terms of the achievement of my curriculum in my school was to participate in various curriculum activities such as school-level cooperative days, national sports days and state-level championships just to name a few. This year I joined a state-level disc throw at the Kelantan State Sports Complex. The first time I participated in this sport representing the region, I won the third place. I feel very proud of being able to bring the name of school at the state level. This proves that our school can also try to get what we want.
Next, what I did to change the views of other people about the village's school in terms of behavior and discipline was that I became the prefect responsible for the eyes and ears of the teacher by reporting all serious offenses such as fights, humiliation and bullying to the teacher as soon as possible. Last year's statistics show this case is occurring unknowingly by disciplinary teachers. This made my school name worse for the whole country. This year's statistics show that this case has been sharpened by the presence of a responsible prefect. So, we must be smart to solve the problem.
To sum it up, there are a plethora of things I did to change the oblique view of the rural school especially urban school such as study hard in weak subject, participate in various curriculum activities and became a responsible prefect in my school. Thus we must ensure that our school has good qualities that will not underestimated by the other school. |
