American University of Central Asia (AUCA) is accepting applications for the Afghan Students Scholarship Program, funded by US Embassy in Kabul. Through this program, AUCA will provide merit-based scholarships for citizens of Afghanistan to study at one year preparatory program and 4-years undergraduate program at the fully-accredited American University of Central Asia.
The program will provide the 3 alumni of specific USG programs (male or female) from Afghanistan with:
Kyrgyz visa sponsorship for the duration of study in Kyrgyzstan;
Round-trip travel from home country to host university once per academic year;
Medical reimbursement program; and
Pre-departure orientation

Afghan Students Scholarship Program Fall 2016 The Afghan Students Scholarship Program is funded by the U.S. Embassy and run in partnership with the American University of Central Asia (AUCA). The program provides merit-based scholarships to academically qualified students of Afghanistan to study at one year preparatory program and 4 years undergraduate program at American University of Central Asia (AUCA). The duration of study is 5 years. A total of 3 scholarships are offered exclusively for alumni of specific USG programs (AUSEP, YSEL, YES and Access Micro-Scholarship) for both males and females.
Eligibility Requirements
The Afghan Students Scholarship Program does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national and ethnic origin, or disability. Competition is merit-based and open to anyone who is:
A citizen/resident of Afghanistan at the time of application & during the selection process;
The recipient of a high school diploma by the time of application;
Proficient in spoken and written English at the time of application;
An alumnus or an alumna of USG programs (AUSEP, YSEL, YES and Access Micro-Scholarship);
Able to begin the academic program in September 2016;
Committed to returning to Afghanistan after completion of the program to contribute to its development.
Individuals in the following circumstances are NOT eligible:
U.S. citizens and permanent residents of the United States;
Spouses of U.S. citizens and permanent residents of the United States;
Individuals currently participating in academic, training or research programs outside of Afghanistan;
Individuals currently residing or working outside Afghanistan;
Employees, officers, or directors of the Afghan Students Scholarship Program or American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS, their spouse, children, sibling, or a person in a committed relationship with an employee.
U.S. Government employees as well as spouses or dependent children of U.S. Government employees;
Current and past recipients of U.S. Embassy funded scholarships are ineligible to apply. For example, if you are a current/past U.S. Embassy AUAF scholar or PROMOTE scholar, you are ineligible for the Afghan Students Scholarship Program at AUCA.
