  3. Explicate “Araby” and “Eveline”.

  4. Work cooperatively.

DO NOW: Swap DEJs with a partner and comment on their comments.


AGENDA: 1. DO NOW activity. Discuss responses.

2. Form Explication groups and create responses to “Araby” and “Eveline”

3. Discuss chart. Collect DEJs.

4. Assign homework:

Timed essay on Araby or Eveline on 9/19.

Choose a nonfiction selection with 3-4 classmates. 9/23

Final draft of Major Assertion Essay #1 due September 30.

Literary Terms Presentation due 9/23.

Book Presentations due 9/24.

2. Timed essay on “Araby” or “Eveline”: 40 minutes. Place essay and notes in portfolios when finished.

3. Homework:
