The Scott-St Louis Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) is pleased to announce the annual call for scholarship applicants. These scholarships are for students living in the greater Scott AFB, IL and St Louis, MO region.
The objective of the Chapter Scholarship Program is to assist outstanding and deserving students through monetary awards, in order to help them complete their education in technical and scientific fields. The Chapter provides scholarships in fields of study which directly relate to AFCEA’s sphere of interest. Students must be enrolled in programs or pursuing classes related to electronics, communications, engineering, information systems, computer technology, physics or mathematics.
All applicants will be judged on the following criteria:
Acceptance or attendance of a university, community college or technical school
An essay of 350 words or less detailing the applicant’s goals for their course of study and if applicable their service to their country as a member of the military, a civil servant, or a contractor in the defense or homeland security industrial base.
The impact if a scholarship is not awarded
The application is on the AFCEA website (http://scott.afceachapters.org/) and included in this document. Applications must be mailed in, along with required documentation listed below, and postmarked by 6 April, 2018. Applications will be reviewed and awarded at the annual Awards Banquet held on May 17th, 2018.
