  • GO BACK AND STUDY NOTES ABOUT GREGORY HINES, SAVION GLOVER, ANN MILLER, FRED ASTAIRE, DONALD O’CONNOR, BILL “BOJANGLES” ROBINSON, AND VERA ELLEN.

-Know who was famous in both stage and films and is known for their dancing in WHITE KNIGHTS.



-Know which dancer became a Rockette even though they did not meet the height requirement.

-Know who was the first African American tap dancer to bring flat foot dancing to its toes.

-Know who is known as the fastest tap dancer even being able to hit 500 taps per minute.

-Know which dancer is known for athleticism and bringing comedy to their dance.

ESSAY

Choose your favorite dance style that we have studied this semester (Tap -Singin’ in

the Rain, Contemporary Jazz- A Chorus Line, and Broadway Jazz- Hairspray)

and explain why you prefer this dance style over others. What were the elements of

this dance style that you liked/disliked? Did this type of dancing come easy to you or

did it challenge you? If you could choose one musical to be in that uses this type of

dance style, what would it be and why?
