One student’s paragraph 3

The second reason why animals should not be kept in zoos is that animals suffered in the zoos. This proves to be true because animals feel bored in the zoos. According to the article "Should zoos be closed?" by no author, "Many animals have suffered in Dublin zoo. A white rhino was shot on zoo grounds, penguins died from toxic paint in their enclosure...(text 4 and line#30-31)" This quote shows that animals suffered in the zoos because animals in the zoos got shot and died from toxic paint. Also, animals will feel bored in the zoos. According to the article "Are zoos bad news? Tigers attack spurs debate" by no author, "Zoo elephants constantly swaying side to side, polar bears swimming in endless circles, and monkeys and parrots 'grooming' themselves until they have no fur or feather left (text 3 and line#13-15)" This example highlights the claim that animals feel bored and suffered in the zoos because they have nothing fun to do.  Thus, animals should not be kept in the zoos.

The second reason why animals should be kept in zoos is because zoos provide a better education to humans (1._______________). This proves true because without zoos humans won't be able to learn about how important animals are. According to the article, "Zoo's Goal: A Better World for Animals" by Shannon Block, it states, "The zoos strives to inspire a love of science and to educate the more than two million visitors each year (Text#2, l.#8)" (2.____________) This evidence demonstrates zoos are educating humans because animals make humans love science (3.____________). Also this evidence supports the overall claim by proving that zoos can really educate people (4._____________). According to the article "Zoo's Goal: A Better World for Animals" by Shannon Block, it says, "For more than 120 years, the Denver Zoo has been an integral thread in the fabric of the lives of children and families in our region, where memories are made daily and generations return to both relive their experience and engage their families and friends in their own journey(Text2,Line13-15)”  (5_____________)This idea supports the claim that animals educate humans because the Denver zoo has affected many people’s lives by providing their experience for more than 120 years (6.____________). Thus with the education that animals provide supports my claim because zoos provide a better life to humans (7______________).

After filling out the blanks, this group will draw a graph to show the organization of a well-developed paragraph 3 with topic sentence, evidence, explanation, proof, and conclusion.
