Sonnet Essay Draft #2 Peer Feedback Checklist


Directions: On Google docs, share your essay with a classmate. Then give specific & constructive feedback using the comments feature and this checklist to guide you.

IDEAS/CONTENT:


  • Look back at the checklist for draft #1. Are there any suggestions you have for improving the strength of the argument overall (accuracy & specificity)?


SENTENCE FLUENCY:


  • Are sentences complete (no fragments or run-ons)?

  • Are there any short, choppy sentences that can be combined to create compound/complex sentences?

  • Are there any repetitive words or ideas that can be eliminated/reworded?

  • Are there any areas where transition words can be added to help ideas flow?


WORD CHOICE:





  • Is there any awk. word choice?




  • Are there any “dead” words that can be replaced with stronger word choice? (see PR)




    • Instead of “the poet says use….





        • writes, explains, claims, admits, asserts, adds, continues, declares, expresses, mentions, notes, observes, proclaims, remarks, states




        • suggests, implies, insinuates, indicates, hints, argues
