Army ROTC Scholarship

Scholarship for Presbyterian College, Newberry, or Lander University. Full-ride scholarships are available. Applicants must be medically qualified, have good moral character, be a U.S. Citizen, and pass the Army PT test. Students must also have a 2.5 GPA, and have a 920 SAT or 19 ACT score.
Open to graduating seniors pursuing nursing or current nursing students. Must attend Lander University of Piedmont Technical College.

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program
For students who will be attending a 4-year accredited University who show an interest in the automotive industry. Candidates are likely to choose a course of study focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Design, Marketing, Finance, and Business.

Gates Millennium Scholars Program
A scholarship for minority students. Scholarship is open to students who will be entering college for the fist time in the Fall of 2012. Scholarship is good for the student’s school of choice and is good for all four years.
Scholarship for Hispanic/Latino students attending Georgia Technical University. SAT/ACT scores, GPA, essay, leadership abilities, and financial need will all be evaluated for this scholarship.

Governor’s School Summer Research Scholars Math/Science
This is a two year residential high school in Hartsville, SC. This school is for academically talented juniors and seniors to complete college-level courses. Students must be a sophomore in any SC high school, have a GPA of 3.5, PSAT of 110, and completed Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and English 2.
Students must apply by March 1st of their sophomore year.

Greenwood High School Booster Club Team Player
Candidates must be excellent student-athletes. Students will also write a 250-word or less essay describing what influence GHS athletics has made in your life and how the scholarship would benefit you.
$2,500 scholarship for students majoring in wildlife, fisheries, forestry, biology, zoology, marine science, environmental science, or related fields. Re-occurring scholarship for all four years. Student must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. There are a couple of other smaller scholarships also listed on this website that students might be interested in.
Students must be accepted to the academy. Eligible students should be in the 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grades pursuing a career in the health field. Transcript, reference letter, and essay are necessary for acceptance. Herff Jones Principal’s Leadership Award

Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund Scholarship
Must attend SC college or university. Students should have a combine SAT score of 1800 or an ACT score of 26. Students should have a 3.0 GPA. Family income should not exceed $40,000.
This is a program for Lander students to be able to travel abroad for no additional cost. 20 entering freshmen are eligible for this scholarship. To qualify students should enter Lander as a freshman, have a SAT score of 1300, have a GPA of at least a 3.5, and be in the top 10% of their class.

Applicant must be a must be a resident of a participating Mensa region. Piedmont region is “Region 5:293.” Student must also be enrolled at an accredited college or university. An application and essay are required.
Up to $5,000. Applicant must be a dependent of a full-time Milliken employee. (Employee must have been employed for at least 2-years). Student must plan on attending a 4-year, non-profit college or university.
Miss South Carolina
$10,000 scholarship to Newberry College for the new Miss South Carolina USA and Miss South Carolina Teen USA.
$1,500. Student must be from a farm family with an above average academic record. Student should plan on pursuing agriculture at his or her college or university of choice. Student does not have to be a member of the FFA.
Scholarship is open to high school seniors, particularly minority students who plan to major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering. Must have a 1600 (1100 critical reading and 500 on math) or a 25 on the ACT. Recipients of this scholarship will receive scholarship and will work for the NSA during the summer.
