MENTORS

Heather McFadyen is a Psychotherapist, Registered Yoga Teacher (500 hours) and anti-violence worker. She completed her Yoga Teacher Training with Allie Chisholm-Smith at Ahimsa in Huntsville, ON, and her Psychotherapy Training at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy. Heather is a member of the Yoga Alliance and a student member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy. She is currently pursuing her Level 1 training with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.
Heather has been teaching yoga since 2004 and practicing as a psychotherapist since 2006. She naturally integrates one with the other and her area of interest is how we embody trauma and other life experiences. She has been strongly influenced by her international travel, something she has undertaken at extended intervals since 1991, and by her anti-violence work with women survivors of abuse.
Heather’s approach in both yoga and therapy is one of humility, enquiry and collaboration.
