We have a fully automated office which has hard working and committed administrative staff led by Mrs. Satinder Kaur and Mr. Sohan Singh. Their untiring efforts help in smooth functioning of the college.

EXAMINATION BRANCH Coordinator: Dr. Parvinder Singh

Examination branch is successfully using ‘edunext 24x7’ Software Online Exam Evaluation for submission of results for house examination, assessment calculation and attendance record for students. We were the first to launch this facility. A team of 10 members handles the examination branch. The college has been allocated five examination centers to conduct the annual exams. We regularly conduct UGC, CET, PMT, Railway Recruitment, Banking Recruitment, SLIET, NTSE, AFMC, UPSC (Civil Services), and AIIMS (MBBS/MD/MS) Entrance Exam, PGIMER, NDA, ETT and many more national and regional examinations.
HOSTEL Warden: Dr. Sushil Kumari

The Hostel was established in 1992 and now it has 16 wings. During this session, 263 students from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur were admitted to the hostel on merit basis. Apart from providing a comfortable stay in well lit and ventilated rooms, special efforts are made to provide hygienic and nutritious food to the inmates. A team of 30 office bearers (students) works in tandem with the hostel staff to manage and organize various activities of the hostel. Regular surprise checks are undertaken by the Hostel Committee of the college to ensure smooth running of the hostel. The hostel also promotes the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the students through a well stocked library, indoor/outdoor games and yoga classes. A doctor and a nurse are on duty in the hostel 24x7. The conducive environment of the hostel has resulted in the hostellers giving their best in academics, sports and extra curricular activities.

LIBRARY Librarian: Ms. Anita Mahajan

The college library is fully air-conditioned, automated and caters to the academic and educational needs of the students and the staff. During the current session approximately 2000 books have already been added to the previously existing stock of 32,000 and more than 500 books will be added this month. In addition to this, the library subscribes to 65 magazines, 15 subject journals and 19 newspapers in Hindi, English and Punjabi to keep the students and staff abreast with current affairs home and abroad. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility is available in the library for the convenience of the staff and students to locate books through various approaches like author, title, accession number, publisher, subject, or a combination of these. Five new Internet terminals have been added for the students.
PLACEMENT CELL Coordinator: Dr. Manjit Kaur

The college has a placement cell to cater to Campus Placements. Professionals from various fields interact with the students regarding job opportunities and train them in preparing profiles, appearing in interviews and participating in group discussions. Despite the threatening atmosphere of recession, a number of companies like IBM, WNS Global and Genpact visited our college during the placement drive and offered placements to students of graduating classes from B.A., B.Sc. & B.Com. The college placement team has been working with the other five teams of the city Govt. Colleges; under the leadership of Director, Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration. The college has twenty eight laboratories equipped with all relevant items as per University conditions. During the current session, a new lab for Bioinformatics with 15 smart classrooms has been constructed and is now fully functional

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Extra Curricular Activities help in honing “Soft Skills” that relate directly to social interaction, time management, public relations and community service. Students who excel in Academic and Extra Curricular Activities have a greater sense of achievement that will propel them to greater heights and success in their education and career. So by interspersing academics with an Extra Curricular Activity-be it a sport, a club, society or community work- one can refresh oneself & be better able to focus on one’s work!

With this end in view, a number of activities such as Talent Hunt, Inter College & Intra College Quizzes, Debates, Declamations, Folk Song & Poetry Recitation competitions were held in the college during this session.
