Many years ago, there lived two young men that seemed to have a very good relationship with each other. The other man went by the name of Fortunato, whom is very wealthy and also a bit of a bully to the less fortunate people but he has learned to hid that side of him very well with his very apologetic personality. The two gentlemen ran into each other at a carnival that had come into town and instantly clicked with each other. Standing in line at the ticket booth Fortunato turned around in swift motion and accidently hit Montresor in the nose while looking around making sure no one else was looking him pulled out a wad of cash. “Are you alright? I’m terribly sorry sir!” Fortunato exclaimed. “It’s okay, accidents happen. I’m alright.” Montresor replied. But Fortunato still continued to be very apologetic towards Montresor and offer to buy him a drink. They think continued to talk for hours about life, families, cars, sports, and money. After a while Fortunato could see that Montresor has had one to many drinks he calls for a taxi and takes Montresor to his house. “Thank you for the drinks.” Montresor said. “Oh it’s no problem really.” Fortunato replied. They soon pulled up to the house that Fortunato lived in and they both walked in side. “You have a very nice home!” Montresor exclaimed. “Why thank you! Make yourself at home.” Fortunato replied. Unexpectedly Fortunato starts to beat on Montresor and all he can do is yelling and scream at Fortunato to stop but he didn’t. He just kept hitting him and telling him he’s a good for nothing that nobody could ever want in this world. Fortunato’s bullying carried on for quite some time but the he stopped and threw Montresor out on his front porch and slammed the door, leaving him out there to wonder why? Months had passed and Montresor’s drinking had become worse but during that time he had also became very wealthy. Even after Montresor becoming extremely wealthy, Fortunato’s bullying still continued and that caused Montresor’s drinking to get worse and worse. One night after he had got beaten up he went to the bar to drink the pain away but he had one to many drink and got sent to the hospital for over drinking. While he was lying in the hospital bed he realized he almost died and that he needed to stop the drinking and get his life together. Once he was released from the hospital you would think Fortunato would have some sympathy and stop the bullying but he didn’t, it just only got worse. This then caused Montresor to start drinking again and he started to slowly lose his wealth. Until one day Montresor got sick and tired of all of Fortunato’s bullying and that night when Fortunato started to bully him he stood up for himself saying “Stop! I am sick and tired of you pushing me around like you own me Fortunato! I’m done. I will get revenge.” Montresor said walking away not letting Fortunato say another word. After that night Montresor took charge of his own life and stopped drinking, focusing on the important things in life.
