Following the age-old Guru-Shishya tradition the college strives to maintain a strong emotional bond with its old students through Alumni Association. Each year a number of new members are added to it and their collective effort is an asset to the institution. An old-student meet is held in the campus each year. This year the Alumni Meet was held in 24th March, 2006 and around 300 old students graced the occasion.
Our alumni help the college authorities in accomplishing various new projects. The latest is the completion of Prof. Brij Narain Memorial Sadan, the new auditorium.

Dental Care Camp was organized by SD College and Red Cross Society in collaboration with Grewal Dental Care and IT Academy in S.D College Ambala Cantt on 20th January, 2006. 300 students were examined by a team of doctors.
35. Performance in sports activities
Our Cross-country team won the Kurukshetra University Cross-Country Championship for the ninth year in succession which is a record in itself. Our football team won the runners-up position fourth year in succession. In relay races our team won one Gold, three Silver and one Bronze Medal and secured the runners-up position.
In the Kurukshetra University Annual Athletics Championship our college athletics team won 5 Gold, 9 Silver and 8 Bronze Medals.

It is a matter of great pleasure and pride that our college bagged Overall Trophy (with Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shahbad Markenda) with 8 recommendeations and 12 commendations in Ambala zone Youth festival held at Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shahbad Markenda. The College is Committed to produce disciplined, spirited and patriotic human resource through its fully functional NCC wings of boys and girls under able command and guidance of its NCC officers Lt (Dr) Vijay Sharma and Capt (Dr) Ashutosh Angiras. Selfless Devotion, Hardwork, Urge foe excellence & Continuous perseverance of ANOs have resulted in creating dedicated & devoted cadres of NCC which are ever willing to serve the nation.NCC cadets of both wings have participated in various training camps , adventure ,social and welfare activities organized across the country.
NCC cadets of the college have brought laurels for institution through their achievements. Major success stories are given as under:
This year 17 cadets have cleared ‘C’ certificate examinations with 5 cadets obtaining ‘A’ grade and 12 cadets getting ‘B’ grade.
Cadet Sapna Saini has been selected to join Indian Air force as Pilot.
Two Cadets Urvashi and Nancy have cleared CDS exam for joining Army as Lady Officers.
Three girls cadets—Rajni Chauhan ,Poonam and Rashmi Bidla were Short listed for RD parade and they attended Pre RD parade camp.
Cadet Rashmi Bidla also attended a National Camp at Andaman Nicobar this year from February 12-23 ,2008 .She was among two cadets selected from entire Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh.

The college is rendering selfless services to the society not only through academics but it is also providing a platform to the students to participate in community service. The NSS volunteers are doing a Herculean task under the able guidance of programme officers Dr. A K Sharma, Dr. Alka Sharma and Dr. Divya Jain. The three NSS units comprising of 300 volunteers have done justice to the motto’ not me but you’. The volunteers try to sensitise the society by organizing various socially relevant programmes like Adult Education and Literary Campaigns, Drug De-Addiction and Prevention Camps, AIDS Awareness and Prevention Camps, Blood Donation Camps, Free Medical Check-up and Health Camps etc. in an effort to mitigate the ills in the society.
