By Stephen Bagby

President, ASMC Washington Chapter

Greetings and welcome to the February luncheon!

ASMC’s key mission is to promote education, training and professional development in military comptrollership. To accomplish this mission the Washington Chapter Mini-PDI is a signature event that provides a professional program to keep our members abreast of current issues and encourage the exchange of techniques and approaches.
This year’s Mini-PDI will take place on March 29, 2005 at the J.W. Marriott Hotel Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. Our theme is “Achieving Potential through Professional Growth” and is built upon three pillars: Mission Awareness, Leadership Growth, and Professional Development.
The Mission awareness (MA) pillar focuses on providing knowledge of operations and national security issues to attendees.
The Leadership Growth (LG) pillar aims to provide all attendees with a better skill set to lead, manage, or be aware of the current and future workforce and teams in the government.
The Professional Development (PD) pillar is a general category that encourages and promotes individual development through education, certification, mentoring, and other matters relating to professional development.
Why Should You Attend? This event provides the opportunity for you to earn 8 Continuing Professional Education units (CPEs) to enhance your knowledge and skills. Qualified Certified Defense Financial Managers must complete 80 hours of CPE every 24 months in order to maintain the certification.
I encourage all of our members to attend this year’s Mini-PDI. I thank each and every one of you for your help and support of our chapter.
