Distribution of 1500 sets of audio-visual (AV) material publication related to cultural traditions. Organization of educational visit to monuments, museums, science centers, nature parks / zoo etc.








This scheme has been handed over to CCRT for its implementation.

National institute of Culture and heritage management (Center for management of Cultural Resources)

Aims to offer specialized courses on culture and its management.

5 Short Term Training programmes- training to 200 personnel.


Organization of training programmes which includes understanding of cultural traditions, their inter-relatedness and management of cultural institutions with financial budgeting.

Financial Assistance for Promotion of Art & Culture

This scheme has 6 components as per details given from (i) to (vi).










(i)

Financial Assistance for Professional Groups and Individuals for specified performing art projects. (Dance, Drama and Theatre Ensembles)

To promote Guru Shishya Parampara and support organizations / individuals working in the field of Performing Arts.

Organizations involved in cultural activities are assisted on the basis of receipt of proposals and recommendations of the Expert Committees. Approximately 500 Gurus and 4500 Artistes are likely to be assisted during 2013-14

To promote and support groups and individual working in the field of performing arts.

Applications are invited and meetings of Expert Committee are held in order to release funds in deserving cases.

Includes 30% provision towards pro-women, and also provisions for ST applicants to be covered under TSP.

(ii)

Financial assistance to Cultural Organizations with a National Presence

To provide assistance Institutions/Organizations engaged in cultural activity at the National level.

The grant will be given to the prominent institutions like R.K. Mission, SPICMACAY and others organizations of national presence.

Promotion and Awareness of thoughts, knowledge and theological activities at the national level.

Throughout the year.

(iii)

Financial Assistance for Tribal/Folk Art

To promote and disseminate tribal art and culture.

Organizations involved in Cultural activities are assisted on the basis of receipt of proposals and recommendations of the Expert Committee.
Plan provision included under Sl. No. 12 (a)

To promote and protect Tribal/Folk art and culture from extinction.




The scheme stands discontinued w.e.f. 2008-09.

(iv)

Cultural Functions Grant Scheme (erstwhile Development of Cultural Organizations)

To give grants to not-for-profit organizations engaged in cultural activities for holding conferences, festivals, exhibition, workshop, seminars and symposia on important cultural subjects

Organizations to be awarded grants, as per the recommendations of the Expert Committee.

Financial support to NGOs engaged in cultural activities and research on Indian Culture.

(v)

Financial Assistance for the Preservation & Development of Cultural Heritage of the Himalayas

To promote, protect and preserve the cultural heritage of Himalayas.

Depending upon the receipt of eligible applications and subject to recommendation of the Expert Advisory Committee.

Ministry of Culture advertises in the leading newspapers requesting for the eligible organizations to apply for grant-in-aid under the Himalayan Scheme duly recommended and forwarded by the State Government. On receipt of the applications, this Ministry places the same before the Expert Advisory Committee for their recommendations.



Preservation &

Development of cultural heritage of Himalayas through financial supports to NGO’s.

The advertisement inviting application for the year 2014-15 has been issued and the last date for receipt of application is 31.1.2014.





The number of proposals to be approved by the Expert Committee will depend upon the quality of the project and capability of the organizations.
