Essay: A Christmas Carol Name ________________________

Write an essay that addresses the theme people often change as the result of a significant event in their lives by answering the question: How does Ebenezer Scrooge change as a result of the visitations from the 4 ghosts? Support your discussion with evidence from BOTH the play we read in class AND the play we saw at the Cider Mill and be sure to explain your thinking about how this evidence relates to Scrooge’s transformation.
In your answer, you should:

  • Contrast Scrooge’s words and actions at the beginning, middle, and end of the play.

  • Cite evidence from both the play we read in class and the play you saw at the Cider Mill.

You MUST use the textbook in order to write your essay. Use the space provided below to plan your essay, then write your essay on lined paper.

The Cider Mill asked us to speak with you about proper theater etiquette. Proper etiquette means that you:

  • No talking during the performance.

  • Hands, feet, drinks, coats, etc. must be OFF the stage!

  • Avoid rattling the ice in your cups of soda. Eat your snack quietly.

  • Clean up your snack after the performance.

  • If anyone is using a cell phone during the performance, there will be a serious consequence. Students may, however, bring cell phones as long as they are off. They are not allowed to bring iPads, etc.
