Annual Christopher Reed Award

$1,000. Nominees must be high school seniors or younger and the awardee must be a high school senior or younger at the time the recipient is notified in March. Ron Brown Scholar Program

The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card. Current college students are not eligible to apply. Each year, a minimum of ten students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. The recipients may use the renewable scholarships to attend an accredited four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. Ron Brown Scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline. FIRE's Freedom in academia Essay Contest

$1,000: Applicant must be a current student, have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale and have taken either the ACT or SAT test. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

Up to $30,000 awarded to over 30 students. Plan to graduate from a US high school in spring 2014.
Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2014. Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above. Receive standardized test scores in the top 15%: SAT combined critical reading and math score of 1200 or above (must test by October 5, 2013) and/or ACT composite score of 26 or above (must test by September 21, 2013). Demonstrate significant unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000. However, we anticipate that a majority of scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive a Pell grant.

2013 Women in Aviation Scholarships

WAI is proud to offer a diverse selection of scholarships again this year. BBG provides the Youth Volunteer Scholarship Award to recognize and reward a student who demonstrates a passion for volunteering, while maintaining a high level of academic achievement.
