    Most of the Students of the Department are involved in NSS activities and have brought Glory to the Institution, some students are participated in National Adventure Camp, National Integration Camp and Youth Exchange Programme, One Student of the Department has worked in Vishakhapatnam at the time HUDHUD, Super Cyclone for Rescue Operation and Community Service

    Achievement in Drama

    From the establishment of college as per the Traction, the Dramatic Association is conducting various Activities to enhance and to promote the inner abilities of the students in respect to cultural and dramatic activities among there. Inter college song, Drama, Dance computation Along with inter class competitions are going on in the month of December and January of every educational year. Generally on basis of Elector the post of secretary, Asst-secretary, representatives are elected to function the activities. Besides Above in order to recognize the socio-cultural and dramatic contributions to the community the Dramatic Association felicitated 2 persons in every year from the locality in the Name of Prof. Santanu Das memorial Award. It is continuing since the year 2009. It can be maintained her the following persons are nominated for the year 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 Uttam panda, Prasanna Sahoo, Jitendra Ku Sahoo, Bikram Bisoi delivered their responsibilities as secretaries of Dramatic Association in above such year, 3 Nos. of smart-Play as Trishnu, Katha Khua Saba, Abhispta Ghangur were successfully staged with other normal activities like inter class dramatic and cultural Programs.

    It can be noted here some of our old and basified students have outstanding contribution to the society. There are Jina Panda film Technician Pradipta Pallai as profession al singer and a member of Music Group of state level category, Bikram Biswal participated in university level and rewarded.

    In last but not least, it can be concluded that typing to infuse and in build the cultural and Dramatic infuse and in build the cultural and Dramatic busty of the students.

    Achievement in Youth Red Cross

    The youth Red Cross of Balugaon College has been performing various activities in different sessions.

    In sessions 2011-12 on 25th Nov 2011 on the eve of National foundation for communal Harmony day (Flag day) a blood donation camp had been organized jointly in collaboration with the NSS wing of Balugaon college YRC, Sambad and Ama Odisha. 72 Units of blood had been collected on this occasion.

    In the session 2012-13 three number of student volunteers along with YRC Counselor Mr. B.K. Padhi had been deputed to Godabarish Mahavidyalya Banpur. For participating District Level study cum training camp organized by the said college.

    In the session 2013-14. The world Day had been organized jointly by YRS & NSS of Balugaon college to create awareness among the youth masses on the same session six number of student voluntary had been deputed to Godavarish Mahavidyalaya, Banpur. Along with YRC councilor Mr. B K Padhi to participate the district level study cum training camp of YRC. Miss Twinkle Biswal & Puspanjali Sahoo were participated various events arranged by YRC of Godavarish Mahavidyalya & got prizes in Essay, debate in the same session on 11th and 12th feb 2014 YRC Program officer Mr. B.K Padhi along with three student Volunteers of Red Ribbon Club had been dputed to panticipate two days peer educators Residential training programme of RRC organized by CDMO, Khordha in collaboration with District AIDA Program and control unit (DAPCU) Odisha stare AIDS control society (OSACS) Indian Red Cross Society state Branch, Bhubaneswar Institute of Technology, Patia, BBSR.

    AIDS for YRC Counselors held at Red cross Bhawan Odisha. Organized by (OSACS) in collaboration with IRC society Odisha State Branch, Bhubaneswar. YRC counselor Mr. BK Padhi had joined the said training program.

    In 1st December 2014 the “World AIDS Day” had been observed by YRC, RRC & NSS wing of Balugaon College. ICTC technician of Balugaon community health centre forward some advisable tips regarding the dangerous & remedies of AIV/AIDS. On this occasion students were participated in different events regarding HIV/AIDS arranged by Red Ribbon club of Balugaon College.

    In the session 2015 we deputed three volunteers of YRC along with YRC counselor Mr. BK Padhi to participate three days District Level study- cum training camp for YRC volunteers organized by Nachuni Mahavidyalya, Nachuni Khordha (on date 10,11,12 Jan, 2015). Miss Twinkle Biswal & Miss Puspanjali Sahoo got first prize on debate & Essay respectively on the competition arranged by Nachuni Mahavidyalaya.

    Achievement in National service scheme

    Annual Report 2014-15

    National service scheme (NSS) Degree wing of this institution has undertaken a lot of innovative programme for the cause of nation building and personality development of students during the academic session 2014-15. During this session, volunteers have represented Odisha for National Adventure Camp at Rishikesh and Manali and 6 Volunteers have represented Odisha for attending National Integration Camp at Kerala. Besides it some volunteers have participated state level adventure camp Zonal level Pre-RD Camp, Inter-college camp and have reflected their potentialities in different fields.

    Under the dynamic leadership of Smt. Kalpana Dash, PO, female unit and Dr KC Mohapatra, PO male unit, two special camps and a number of regular programs on issue-based projects in adopted villages and local communities have been organized during this session. The volunteers have manifested the leadership and potentialities in organizing issue based programmes throughout the year. They have proved their commitment in participating different sanitation programmes in and outside college on Swachha Bharat Abhijan. We have the pride privilege to express our deepest gratitude to Dept. of Higher Education Govt. of Odisha for selecting our NSS Unit as the best NSS unit of the state Dr K.C Moharana PO NSS received this state NSS award from Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha on 24/09/2014 (NSS Day) for outstanding contribution in the field of nation building and social service.

    This year two hundred volunteers have registered their names in National University students Skill Development (NUSSD) programme organized by NSS Unit of this college.

    We are very much thankful to Utkal University and Tata Institute of social Science for selecting our college in implementing this innovative skill development program by providing all kinds of academic and infrastructural resources. With the leadership of Pradeep Ku Pradhan Programme officer, NUSSD programme, we have undertaken a lot of programmes on English and communication, motivation, Entrepreneurship, Financial literacy in college campus along with field visit projects outside the campus. These programmes have benefited our volunteers by exploring their talents and potentialities for their career building and commitment for community.

    Many of our volunteers have brought pried to our NSS Units for their contribution to society. Mr. Babul Ransingh, Rakes Behera, Naba Narayan Jally have proved their commitment in social service at the time of super cyclone like Hud Hud at Visakha Patanam for a couple of weeks. They have also devoted their time for organizing shelter home for pre-cyclone affected people at Balugaon college for three days. This year Mr. Babul Ransingh and Miss Premalata Behera have ben awarded with Rajiv Gandhi state Prativa Award for their commendable contribution in social service.

    The year we are grateful to CHSE for opening one male NSS wing in +2 level in our college. Dr. A.K Mishra has been appointed as programme officer for the said wing. This year Dr. Mishra has organized winter special camp at Chasangara from 20/01/2015 to 26/01/2015 in which Prof. A Dei, Principal, the faculty member Sri AB Biswal, Dr. P. K. Acharaya, Sri Tribikram Panda, Head Clerk attended as resource persons during academic session. The volunteers undertook sanitation activities in the adopted villages along with adventurous cycle rally to Barbara forest.

    Annual report 2013-14

    During the session 2013-14 so many innovative activates have been undertaken by NSS Units of this institution. This year five students have participated in National level Youth Exchange national integration and national adventure camps, four students have participated in state level sailing expedition programme and many students have participated in state level district level and inter-college camps. By participation in different camps, they have developed their personality and brought glory of this college. Besides these camps. They have developed their personality and brought glory to this college. Besides these camps, NSS Units have organized different regular camps like plantation, sanitation, Blood donation, celebration of international Non-violence Day, world Friendship Day Gopabandhu Jayanti, Metaji Jayanti, NSS Day, Voters Day, National Communal Harmony week, National Youth Day, World Wetland Day, National Asthma Day etc. this year, our volunteers have done commendable work in Philine and flood affected areas of Chilika and Banpur Block in the month of October. This year, this college has got an opportunity to organize an inter- college camp consisting of two hundred volunteers in college campus from 20th January to 26th January on Disaster management. In this camp the volunteers have undertaken the projects like sanitation at Kalijai Temple and at the bank of Chilika, Pulse Polio Immunization, awareness campaign on “Donate Blood and Save Life” first aid training on leadership and blood donation camp. Forty volunteers donated blood for the cause of humanity. This year, programme officer Smt. Kalpana Dash and Dr. Kailash Chandra Moharana represented Odisha for National Youth Award Ceremony at Rastrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on 4th July 2013 Dr. K.C. Moharana, PO also attended training program on Disaster Management and TOT program on social Harmony organized by Govt. of Odisha and RGNYD respectively.

    This year our college has been selected for National University Students Skill Development (NUSSD) programme sponsored by Govt. of India and TISS Mumbai. The students will be provided with the soft skill training like youth leadership, digital literacy, financial literacy, legal literacy, English and communication and Youth for community participation. These programmes have been undertaken by TISS to develop the inner potentiality and skill of NSS volunteers to make them employable after the end of their course.
