The principal intent of this essay is to provide you with the opportunity to describe yourself in a “uniquely you” style. Start with where you were born, where you grew up, your immediate family, parents’ background, education, and vocation or profession. Include your schooling, travel, work experiences, volunteer experiences, etc. You may wish to include leadership roles, special recognition and/or achievements. If any particular role models have impacted significantly on your development, you might identify and/or explain the circumstances. Discuss any major events (either positive or negative) that have been influential in your life. Finally, we would like you to identify one or two things you are happiest about and one or two things that you are proud of in your life to date. That gives you a good start! Feel free to add anything that a professor, employer, or admissions committee member would not likely know. This essay is also intended to assess your ability to condense information without a loss of quality and detail. Avoid unnecessary elaboration. Also, do not submit the personal statement/narrative written for one of the application services (i.e., AMCAS, AACOMAS, AADSAS, and AACPMAS).
Please type, starting on this cover page. Font size 12 must be used. Do not exceed three and one half (3 1/2) pages. Said differently, you will be turning in this cover page plus three (3) additional pages. This autobiography will be advanced in its entirety as an optional feature of your Letters Packet. Be sure to type your full name in the shaded area of the title above.
