The organisation “Nikhila Utkal Harijan Adivasi Seva Sangha” (NUHASS), was established in the year 1991, is a non-profit-making and non-political voluntary Institution located at Plot No-773, Lane-3, Jayadev Vihar, Bhubaneswar – 751013 in the State of Odisha (India). It is committed to the welfare of the depressed classes of the society. Its activities have been spread to rural, tribal, coastal and urban areas of the state. It is a state level and a mass-based organization having hundreds and hundreds of workers, volunteers, beneficiaries in different districts of odisha. It has vast experiences in the field of education, health, childcare and other socio-economic activities. It has a noble advisory body, which gives advices, suggestions for preparation of projects, implementation of different programmes and review of non-going activities basically for the upliftment of weaker sections of the society. The policy decisions of the organisation are taken up in the general body meetings where as the administrative and financial powers are entrusted with the executive committee. The volunteers and workers of the organization are co-operative and trust- worthy. Its accounts are regularly audited by efficient Chartered Accountants and it is accountable to its donors and Government in respect of income and expenditure. The organization is functioning smoothly in a disciplined manner from its very inception to reach its basic goals. Periodical monitoring and evaluation are regularly done to rectify defects in functioning of the organization. At present, the activities of the organisation are confined to only 7 districts, i.e. Bhadrak, Khurda, Sambalpur, Mayaubhanj, Keonjhar, Nabarangapur, and Balasore.
What “Nikhila Utkal Harijan Adivasi Seva Sangha” (NUHASS) means:-
“Nikhila Utkal Harijan Adivasi Seva Sangha” stands for the services for upliftment of the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities in particular and the whose society in large. The NGO was established in the year 1991 and registered during the year 1993. It aims at eradication of un-touchability in the society, eradication of illiteracy, racial discrimination, violence against women and sexual abuse of children and women etc. It is opposed to all forms of oppression, exploitation and social violence. It always intends social uprising through reformation of society in process of advocacy, awareness generation and community participation etc. The organisation is dedicated to promoting public health, child care and the care of the vulnerable motherhood during the period. It’s functional strategy is participation of the stake-holder, PRI members, social activists and govt. officers etc.

Our Organisation “Nikhila Utkal Harijan Adivasi Seva Sangha” constitutes a general body and a governing body and its members and volunteers look after the activities under different programmes with one major objectives of “Social Development”. The President is the chief Executive/functionary and legal project holder of the Organization.

NUHASS envisages a society which is based on basic humane values like liberty, equality, justice, compassion and universal brotherhood and a society which is free from all kinds of exploitation.
Mission of NUHASS:
To assure dignity and justice to the most disadvantaged sections of the society by empowering them so that they can ask for their just right from the society and also to ensure that there is no discrimination on grounds of castes, class, religion, region or creed.
Objectives of NUHASS:
To translate our goal into reality certain objectives has been spelt out by NUHASS in the Memorandum of Association and maximum efforts have been taken to bring out these objectives into reality. The main objectives of the Organization are to give free and compulsory education to the children below fourteen years, provide assistance to the weaker sections, especially the disadvantaged, orphans, disabled, women, children, marginal and small labour, work for water and sanitation in the rural areas, STs, SCs to carry out developmental activities in socio-economic, education and agricultural fields for the welfare of the society.
The Organization believes in the developmental ladder model of social development where the beneficiaries are treated as the part and parcel of the project around which the whole development process revolves as opposed to the charity model in which the beneficiaries are treated as mere recipient of charities and aids.

At present the Organization is confined to work in the Districts of Bhadrak, Khurda, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh and Nabarangapur.
Via- Madhab Nagar, Dist- Bhadrak, Odisha. Programmes and Activities (A). Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA):
Drug-addiction is a global problem and it is also rampact in the state of Odisha. Generally college students, drivers and other youths are addicted to Alcohol, Brownsugar and Cannabis etc. Other elderly persons in urban rural areas are also addicted to Alcohol. Due to this problem many families are being destroyed and the society as larges is being effected and there is an increase in criminal act in our country.
So our organization is engaged to work against Drug-addiction and Alcoholism in the district Of Bhadrak. With financial assistance of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Govt. of India. Our organization has been running one Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (Previously called Drug-de-addiction and Rehabilitation centre) in the district of Bhadrak since 1998-1999. At present the centre is functioning At-Samaraipur in the Gelpur G.P in Bhadrak district. There are twelve staff members working in this 15 bedded hospital and one Sr. Medicine specialist Dr. Gokulananda Mohanty, M.B.B.S, M.D is engaged for treatment of the addicts.
There are free provisions of boarding and lodging, doctor services, Medicines, counseling services and facilities of yogic exercise in the centre. During the period under report 163 nos. drug addict have been detoxified in this centre.
