Faculty has been organizing National level Seminar from time to time for academic exposure and enrichment of students.
Many inter college, district level and state level literary competitions have been organized by faculty as incharge of literary society. Many such programmes were conducted in collaboration with G.O.s and N.G.Os likeHaryana Co-operative Society and Shri Satya Sai Sewa Organisation (Ambala, Chandigarh).
Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year in the month of September.

Strengths
Weaknesses
Some of the students are unable to write and speak correct Hindi due to their Haryanvi and Punjabi background.
Opportunities
Competitions in Literary activities like essay writing, declamations, debate and poetical recitation are organized quite frequently in our college as well other colleges and university which gives the students opportunities to hone their literary acumen.
Zonal/Inter-Zonal Youth Festival on Literary Workshops is organized every year wherein our students participate and enhance their literary skills.
The Hindi Section in the college magazine ‘Sanatan Surbhi’ and comprise of articles/stories/poems etc. written by students and edited by students editor. The final editing is done by the faculty of Hindi. This gives a platform to the creativity and expression of students in their Hindi.
Challenges
Students coming from Punjab find Hindi a bit challenging as their mother tongue is Punjabi and they have had very little exposure to Hindi earlier.
Declining interest of students in traditional courses.
Future Plan
Organizing more programs in collaboration with NGOs like Hindi Sahitya Academy that advocate the importance of Hindi and promote its cause as the national language.

As an organizing Secretary organized 5 National Seminars in the past 4 years in which
eminent personalities delivered lectures for the benefit of the students.
To develop overall personality of the students, Department organizes National level Seminars and Workshops from time to time in which expert lectures are delivered by eminent personalities.
Remedial classes and extra classes for weak students are taken by the Department.
Grooming of students is done for participation in different contests.
Department also arranges Workshops and awareness programs for the benefit of physically challenged persons.
Organizes many lectures, declamation contests under the precincts of Women Cell.
Students participated in many Youth Festival activities and excelled there.

Various Teaching methods like PPT, Group Discussions, Assignments, Regular class tests
are the teaching methods to improve student learning.

The students of Political Science Department participate in various college activities like Blood Donation, Tree Plantation, Sanitation, Health and Hygiene Awareness, Eradicate Polio Drives, Aid Awareness, and initiatives against Female Foeticide etc.
National Rally ‘Badhte Kadam’ flagged by President of India was also welcomed by our
college.
As a Co-coordinator of Gandhian Studies Centre many short term courses were organized
to strengthen our students with qualities and skills which can make them self-dependent.
Exhibitions and many competitions were organized keeping in mind Gandhi ji’s vision of
Khadi and Cottage industries to make students independent.
As a Women Cell incharge various projects were taken for the upliftment of the students.

Opportunity
The Head of the Department being co-ordinator of Gandhian Studies Centre and also co-ordinating some activities of Nehru Studies Centre can give better exposure and knowledge to students through access of related literature in Gandhian Library, field exposure, educational tours and courses organized under Gandhian Studies Centre.
Eminent personalities visit the campus to transfer their experiencial and expert knowledge to the students.
The students can avail the facilities of inter-disciplinary/vocational courses being organized in the college. e.g. Yoga, Food & nutrition, Functional English, Computers (Basic & specialized courses like Tally) and various skill development programs organized in the college under PMKVY.
The head of the Department being incharge of Women Cell can deal with their gender related problems, queries and initiatives more closely and on day to day basis.
The faculty is facilitated by the institution to keep its upgraded and updated through participation in various National/International level seminars, workshops etc. organized by other Institutions/Universities.
Challenges

Future Plans
To attract more and more students towards this subject.
Organizing national seminars, workshops, extension lectures.
Planning to start specialized inter-disciplinary centre e.g. Gandhian Studies.

In order to cultivate national character, spirit of patriotism, democratic values, duties towards nation etc. National festivals will be celebrated with great fervor.

To develop overall personality of the students, Department organizes Seminars and Workshops from time to time in which expert lectures are delivered by eminent personalities.
Remedial classes and extra classes for weak students are taken by the Department
Grooming of students is done for participation in different contests.
Department also arranges Workshops and Awareness Programs for the benefit of physically challenged persons.

Various Teaching methods like PPT, Group Discussions, Assignments, Regular class tests
are the teaching methods to facilitate Teaching Learning process .
27. Participation in Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) and Extension activities
The students of Economics Department participate in various college activities like Blood Donation, Tree Plantation, Sanitation, Health and Hygiene Awareness, Polio Drops, Aids Awareness, Female Foeticides and activities under Red-Ribbon Club.
* As co-ordinator of HEPSN scheme ‘Awareness lectures for physically challenged
students were arranged’.
* Workshop was also organized in which doctors and eminent personalities delivered
lectures for the benefit of these students. Different school students also participated in
this workshop.
* Quiz competition, Painting and Rangoli competition and cultural Programs were also
organized.
* National Rally ‘Badhte Kadam’ flagged by President of India was also welcomed by our
college.
* As N.S.S. Program officer various projects were undertaken for the upliftment of the
residents of adopted area.
* Oil painting, Soft toys making training was also given to the residents in the N.S.S.
Camp.
* Adult Education program was also launched. Our student Ms. Sonal got Nanki Devi
Award, as Best N.S.S. Volunteer.
* The Department also promotes participation of students in various college activities like
Blood Donation, Tree Plantation, Sanitation, Health & Hygiene Awareness, Polio Drops
etc.

* Students also start their own coaching centres.
Challenges
Students come with very low percentage because of the preference for the
professional colleges around the city.

Almost every student is made to participate in various projects taken up by
different societies of college regarding cleanliness awareness, environmental
conservation, health related camps and creative workshops/exhibitions carried out
within the campus of the college.
Percentage of students of B.Com. Vocational placed for projects in
organizations outside the institution in different Industries.
The students are actively involved in most of the projects/activities carried out by
the Nehru Studies Centre. 50% students participate in projects outside institution
in collaboration with NGO’s and GO’s.
