    4. Blood Donation Camp was jointly organized by our N.C.C unit & Karnataka Cancer Therapy and Research Institute Hubli in October, 2010. 60 Cadets donated the blood for the noble cause of saving the precious lives.

  1. Placement Cell (Career Guidance) and SWO:

    • Eminent personalities were invited under auspices SWO, Counseling and Placement Cell to impart information about the career and job opportunities to the students.




    • SWO and Placement Cell (Career Guidance) jointly organised a special lecturer on “Management Career as an Option” on 21st February, 2011. Prof. Vaibhav Madalagi and Prof. (Smt.) Deepti Sadhani, Vidyavahini Savitramma Institute of Management, Dharwad gave lecture on the importance of management career course. In his presidential speech Prin.R.S.Kubasad called upon the students to take the benefits of Management Career Course.



    • One Day “Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme” was jointly orgainsed under the auspices of Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK), Dhrawad on 21st March, 2011. Shri. Mahantesh Koujalagi MLC and Secretary KRCE Society, Bailhongal inaugurated the programme.




    • Jointly organised a special workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development” under the auspices of District Industrial Centre, Belgaum on 29th March, 2011. Dr.(Smt.) Poornima Charantimath Director, KL Society’s IMER Institute of MBA, Belgaum inaugurated the workshop by lighting a lamp and called upon the students to take benefits of entrepreneurship. Shri. B.N.Gadag, Joint Director of District Industrial Centre, Belgaum informed about special provisions regarding entrepreneurship. Prin. R.S.Kubasad presided over the function.




  1. Orientation Programme:

Two Day orientation programme was organised by SWO for B.Sc I Sem students on 17th and B.A. and B.Com I Sem students on 18th September, 2010. Dr. V.I.Patil Chairman KRCE Society, Bailhongal inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Dr. R.S. Mangukekar, HOD, of Sociology of Govt. First Grade College for Women, Bailhongal and Prof. M.U.Sharanappanavar, Associate Professor of Chemistry of our college were trained the students 208 students actively participated in Two Day prgramme.

This programme was arranged for the First Year Degree Students to acquaint themselves with the new environment, prevailing rules and regulation of the college, code of conduct etc.




  1. Induction Programme

One day induction programme was arranged for the first year BA, Bcom, BSc & BBA Students.


  1. Remedial Coaching:

Special classes were conducted for such of the students who were found to be weaker in their studies and the communication skills.


  1. Enrichment Classes:

Special coaching was provided to the advanced learners and were also given more opportunities to use the computers. In addition, they were provided with more number of books from the library. The concerned teachers guided such students in their studies.


  1. Study Tour:

One day study tour was organized by Zoology Dept on 21st October 2010 to Amboli Ghat (Maharashtra State) to observe First Vegetation and Birds etc. students also visited Terekol Beach (Goa State)and collected Fishes such as Snake Fish, Mackrel, Pomfret Fish, Pearl oyster, Star Fish, Unio and Shell samples the team consisted of two teacher and 19 students.

One Day Study Tour was organized by Botany Department on 21st October, 2010 to Amobli Ghat (Maharashtra State) to study vegetation with related to Taxonomy, Algae, Fungi, Lichens Bryophytes, Pteridophytes and Gymnosperms. The team also observed Bamboo vegetation orchids, Rice Oryza sativa, Finger Millet (Eleusine coracana), Coconut (Coccus nncifera) crops. They also visited Terekol Beach (Goa State) to observe Casurina and Acacia plantation of the sea Shore which protect soil erosion. The team was accompanied by two teachers and 19 students

The Department of Commerce and Economics jointly organised an Industrial tour on 12th March, 2011. A team of 12 students of both the departments headed by Prof. G. S. Hiremath and Prof. B. G. Katti visited the Factory to study the production process of paper, nature of the business, vision, mission and quality policy of the factory, product profile, area of operation and infrastructure facilities etc.

Four Day Industrial visit was organised by Department of BBA to Tea Manufacturing Industry, Ooti from 11th to 14th April, 2011 to show the detailed understanding of organisation structure and practical knowledge of the business firm. The team consisted of 5 teachers and 60 students.

Computer training was provided to the office staff with the help of the staff of Computer Science Department of our college.


39. Healthy Practices:

  1. Academic calendar of events is provided to students at the time of admission.

  2. Work Diary is provided to each faculty member to record the syllabus to be covered during the semester, the month wise distribution of syllabus and the topic covered in each period.

  3. Anti ragging and discipline committees are formed.

  4. Library is fully computerized and major portion of the office work is also computerized.




  1. Internal quality check is achieved by obtaining the feed back about teachers from students regularly.

  2. One day orientation programme is arranged every year for freshers to acquaint themselves with the rules and regulations of the college.

  3. Students are informed well in advance the entire schedule of seminars, tests and examinations.

  4. Various cultural and sports activities are conducted to bring out and boost the hidden talents of the students.

  5. Special lectures of academicians and eminent personalities in various fields are arranged to enrich the knowledge of students, both curricular and extra curricular.

  6. Foundation Day is celebrated to inculcate the spirit of philanthropic services in the students.

  7. National festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Swami Vivekanand Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Valmiki Jayanti, Kanakdas Jayanti, Rani Channamma Vijayotsava are celebrated with vigorur and enthusiasm to instill patriotism in the students.

  8. N.C.C. Day, N.S.S. Day, Women’s Day, Aids Awareness Day, Vanamahotsava etc., are celebrated to increase the social and environmental awareness amongst the students.

  9. Students organize welcome function to the freshers and farewell to the outgoing students.

  10. College Student Welfare Officer assists the students to get the Bus Passes from the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and guide the students in the scholarship matters.

  11. A set of books is provided to a group of two students under the Poor Students Lending Library Scheme for the whole academic year.

  12. Alumni Doctors are giving free medical services to the students in the campus and extending the same at their clinics.

  13. The system of nominating the student representatives on the basis of merit and extra curricular activities is followed.

  14. SWO and Zoology department jointly organised Blood group Test Camp on 20th October 2010. 188 students benefited from the camp.

  15. Blood donation camp was organised in October, 2010 by NCC and NSS.

Plans of the Institution for the year 2011-12


  1. UGC is kind enough to sanction the grant of Rs. 24 Lakhs for different schemes under the XI FYP. Hence it is planned to construct the Class Rooms, Gymkhana hall, Seminar hall and Common Room and Toilet facilities for Women, as and when the specific grant is released by the UGC. As the grants are not released by the UGC the same plan is continued.




  1. It is planned to purchase Computer, Fax machine and a printer worth Rs. 2,50,000/- and also to avail internet facility costing Rs. 30,000/-, out of the funds already released by UGC for this purpose.




  1. It is planned to conduct the enrichment classes for the students who are found to

be outstanding in their academic performance.
4. It is planned to conduct the remedial classes for the students who are found to be

weak in their studies and communication skills.


5. view of the implementation of the semester system and to provide more

opportunities to the students to update their knowledge, it is decided to add more number of titles of eminent authors to the library.


6. It is planned to add more number of computers to the computer laboratory to

provide the opportunities to the students for enhancing their computer knowledge.


7. It is planned to purchase the latest equipments for Science Departments to

augment the facilities.
