Part – B

: Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution :


  1. The activities of the institution are planned in such a way that the stake holders would get more exposure to the fast changing world.




  • Calendar of events was prepared and displayed on the notice board at the commencement of the academic year 2010-11.

  • Teaching plan was prepared by each department in the beginning of the year.

  • The college Foundation Day was celebrated on 20th June, 2010.

  • 63rd Independence Day was celebrated to inculcate patriotism on 15th August, 2010. The Chairman of KRCE Society Dr. V.I.Patil hoisted the National Flag. In his speech he called upon the youth to take active part in building a strong India.

  • Gymkhana and Cultural activities of our college for the year 2010-2011 were inaugurated by Shri. C. U. Bellakki, Assistant Director, All India Radio, Dharwad on 18th August, 2010. Shri. M. S. Koujalagi the Secretary, KRCE Society, Bailhongal presided over the function.

  • As per the instruction of the Central Government “Communal Harmony Week” was observed on 20th August, 2010. Dr. Y.G.Baligatti and Dr.S.Y.Chalawadi delivered lecture on National Integration. Prin. R.S.Kubasad appealed the students to be firm to maintain the sovergnty and integrity of the nation.

  • Teachers Day was celebrated on 5th September, 2010 with all devotion and due respect to the teachers. Prin. R.S.Kubasad advised the students to emulate the principles of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.

  • Hindi Day was celebrated on 14th September, 2010.

  • NSS Foundation Day was celebrated on 24th Sept 2010 by NSS unit.

  • Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi, Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanthi, were celebrated on 2nd October, 2010. Many students and staff spoke on the occasion.

  • “Inauguration of Special Lecture Series” was organised on 19th October, 2010 Dr. B.R.Ananthan Hon’able Vice Chancellor, Rani Channamma University, Belagavi was the Chief Guest and highlighted on the multiple skills to be possessed by the students to face the present competitive environment. Dr. V.I.Patil Chairman of KRCE Society presided over the function.

  • Kittur Rani Channammaji Vijayotsava was celebrated on 23rd Oct 2010.

  • Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated on 1st November, 2010.

  • A Special Lecture was arranged on “Personality Development” on 13th November, 2010. Dr. Ravindra, the resource person highlighted on strong determination power to be possessed by the students to achieve the goal of life. Shri. C.S.Sadhunavar, Chairman, Sub-committee of our college was on the Chair.

  • A special Lecture was arranged on 16th November, 2010 to emphasise the importance of “Soil Testing” under the auspices of Department of Chemistry. Shri. M.M.Kinagi. Asst. Director, of Agriculture was the resource person and Shri. C.S.Sadhunavar, Chairman, Sub-committee of our college presided over the function.

  • National youth Day was observed on 12th January, 2011under the auspices of NSS to pay tribute to Swami Vivekanand.

  • The Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January, 2011. Shri. M.V.Wali. Treasure, KRCE Society hoisted the flag and received the guard of honour from NCC cadets. He addressed the staff and students to develop patriotism and protect the freedom and independence of our country from terrorism.

  • “National Science Day” was observed on 28th February, 2011 under the auspices of science departments.

  • A special Lecture was given on topic of “Pollution of Environment” by resource person Dr. Raviraj Kulkarni Asst. Professor Department of Chemistry, Gogate Institute of Technology, Belgaum. He briefed on the various types of pollutions and its adverse effects on the environment.

  • Cultural Association conducted various competitions such as Rangoli, Singing, Pick and Speak, Debate and Essay competitions.

  • K.R.C.E.Society’s Foundation Day was celebrated on 7th March 2011.

  • International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th March 2011. Dr. Parvati Patil Asst. Professor JNMC, Belgaum was Chief Guest. On this occasion She spoke on Empowerment of Women.

  • Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar was celebrated on 14th April, 2011 to pay tribute to great humanitarian and Architect of constitution of India.

  • The students of our college have participated in various District and State Level competitions and bagged the prizes.

  • Ladies Association conducted various competitions such as Mehandi, Flower and Vegetable Arrangement, Rangoli, Hair Style, Sweet Cookery One minute show etc.

  • A Special Lecture was arranged on 8th October, 2010 on the topic “Women Empowerment” the resource person was Prof. (Smt.) Pooja Halayal Department of English Govt. First Grade College for Women, Bailhongal and spoke on the gender inequalities and other things related to woman.

  • The valedictory function of Gymkhana and Cultural Activities was held on 11th May, 2011. The Chief Guest was Prof. C.S.Patil. Principal, University College of Law, Dharwad in his speech he stressed on importance of the role of teachers and parents in moulding all around personality of students for bright future. Shri. V.V.Patil Chairman, Sub-committee KRCES DEGREE Degree College presided over the function.

  • Eminent personalities were invited under auspices of counseling and placement cell to impart information about the career and job opportunities to the students.

  • Two Day orientation programme was organised by SWO for B.Sc I Sem students on 17th and B.A. and B.Com I Sem students on 18th September, 2010. Dr. V. I. Patil, Chairman KRCE Society, Bailhongal inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Dr. R. S. Mangalekar, HOD of sociology of Govt. First Grade College for Women, Baillhongal and Prof. M.U.Sharanappanavar, Associate Professor of Chemistry of our college trained the students 208 students actively participated in the two day programme.

  • The department of Zoology and SWO jointly organised Blood Group Test Camp on 26th October, 2010 for B.A. / B.Sc / B.Com I Semester students. DR. A.M.Bagewadi MD. MRSH (Londan) and Dr. V.G.Patil Co-ordinator DMLTC were Chief Guest. 188 students got the benefit of the camp.

  • The department of SWO and placement cell jointly organised a special lecture on “Management Career as an Option” on 21st February, 2011.Prof. Vaibhav Madalagi and Prof.(Smt.) Deepti Sadhani, Vidyavahini’s Savitramma Institute of Management, Dhrarwad gave lecture on the importance of management career course. In his presidential speech Prin. R.S.Kubasad addressed the students to take the benefits of management career course.

  • SWO and placement cell jointly organised a special workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development” under the auspices of District Industrial Centre, Belgaum on 29th March, 2011. Dr.(Smt.) Poornima Charantimath Director, KL Society’s IMER Institute of MBA, Belgaum inaugurated the workshop by lighting a lamp and called the students to take benefit of entrepreneurship. Shri. B.N.Gadag Joint Director of District Industries Centre, Belgaum informed about special provisions regarding entrepreneurship. Prin. R.S.Kubasad presided over the function.

  • One Day “Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme” was jointly organised under the auspices of Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK), Dhrawad on 21th March, 2011.Shri Mahantesh Koujalagi MLC and Secretary KRCE Society, Bailhongal inaugurated the programme by lighting lamp. Chief Guest was Shri. B.N.Gadag Joint Director, District Industrial Centre, Belgaum and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship. Shri. Veeranna S. H. Director, CEDOK called upon the students to take the maximum benefit of the training Prin. R.S.Kubasad was in presidential chair.

  • Miss. Soumya Hubballi, Miss. Aswini Hawal, Miss. Roopa Bhajantri, Miss. Sudha Alagundi and Miss.Priyanka Karagi B.A. VI Semester students of English Department were deputed to Govt. First Grade Women’s College, Bailhongal to attend English workshop on 3rd April, 2011.

  • Miss Sanakousar Yaragudri, Miss. Mahalaxmi Patat, Miss. Prabhavati Yaligar, Miss. Shruti Rawool and Miss. Sheela Mattikoppa B.A. II Sem students of Sociology Department were deputed to Govt. First Grade college for Women, Bailhongal to attend the TQM programme on 3rd April, 2011.

  • Under the joint auspices of Planning Forum and Department of Economics, a special lecture was arranged on “Modern Banking Facilities” on 15th October, 2010. Shri M.L.Kamble Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Bailhongal was the resource person. He threw light on various modern banking facilities like ATM, RTGS, Mobile Banking and other on-line systems and advised the student to adopt more and more technology in their daily life.

  • Students took part in various games like TT, Carrom, Cricket, Kabaddi, Chess, and Volleyball and got prizes.

  • Induction Test, Class Seminars, Home Assignments, Internal Assessment Tests, Group Discussions, Tutorials were conducted.

  • Many faculty members presented research papers in Seminars / Conferences / organized by different institutions / organizations and also published articles in journals of national/ international repute.

  • Blood donation camp was arranged for NCC cadets and NSS volunteers on October, 2010.

  • Vanamahotsava was celebrated by NSS volunteers. Other students also participated in the plantation.

  • Study tours were arranged by Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Commerce & Economics Departments.

  • Our college NCC unit has 160 cadets including 30 girl cadets.

  • Our college NSS unit has 100 volunteers including 24 girl volunteers.

  • Seven day NSS Special Camp was organized at adopted Village Bailwad from 25.3.2011 to 31.3.2011.

  • College Annual Athletic Meet was held from 21st to 26th March, 2011.

  • The inaugural function of BBA activities was held on 25th September 2010 the fresher’s day was held on the same day as a part of inaugural function.

  • Annual day was celebrated on 31st May, 2011. Shri. Shashikant Sidnal, MD, Shashi Sidnal Foods Pvt. Ltd., Neginahal was the Chief Guest and Dr. V.I.Patil, Chairman, KRCE Society was the President.

  • “National Sports Day” was observed on 29th August, 2010. Shri M.G.Turamari was Chief Guest and Principal R.S.Kubasad presided over the function.

    • Case study method was adopted.

    • Model demonstration method was adopted.

    • LCD was used for teaching.

    • Students were encouraged to use Laptop and LCD to present seminar papers using power point.

Inter disciplinary programmes have been arranged for the common topics by the teachers.

  1. Examination reforms implemented.

  • The examination schedule was fixed as per guidelines of Karnatak University, Dharwad and Rani Chennamma University, Belgaum.

  • The code of conduct of examination was framed.

  • Internal Tests and home assignments were conducted as per the guidelines of the university.

  • Examination performance of students was displayed on the notice board.

  • Valued answer papers were shown to the students and discussed in the classroom.

  • Parents of students who remained absent for the examinations were informed to enquire with their wards as to the reasons for their absence and also about their performance.

  • The NCC cadets of our college participated in social awareness programmes like, AIDS Awareness Rally, Pulse Polio Immunization, Blood Donation, Road Safety Programmes etc.

  • The NSS volunteers of our college participated in social activities like literacy campaign, medical check-up programmes, water conservation, removal of parthenium, tree plantation, protection of environment, cleaning of college campus etc.

  • 7 day Annual special NSS camp was organized at adopted village Bailwad from 25th to 31st March, 2011 in which 50 volunteer including 12 lady volunteer participated. To create awareness amongst the villagers a series of lectures by eminent personalities from various fields were arranged on the subject like ruin of village culture, personality development, superstitions, awareness of tradition, save of environment, health awareness, cleanliness of village, yoga programmes etc.

  • Vanamahotsava Day was celebrated on 15th August 2010 by NSS and NCC students.

  • As per the instruction of the central Govt. “Communal Harmony Week” was observed on 20th August, 2010. On this occasion Dr. Y.G.Baligatti & Dr. S.Y.Chalawadi of our college delivered lecture on National Integration. Prin. R.S.Kubasad appealed to the students to be firm to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of the nation. On this occasion the student secretary. Shri. Somappa Mallur administered the oath of communal harmony.

  • As per the direction of commissioner of Collegiate Education “Human Rights Association” is constituted in our college to create awareness about the Human Rights among the students.

  • Important News cuttings are displayed on the library notice board.

  • The internet facility of the office is extended to the library.

  • A set of books is issued to a group of two poor students from poor student’s lending library (PSLL) facility for the whole academic year.
