| Romeo and Juliet Love Essay
Homework: Select two characters from the play and compare and/or contrast their views of love with Romeo’s.
The paragraph should begin with a clear topic sentence which makes a true statement about how Romeo’s ideal of love compares with these other characters. A poor topic sentence will merely identify the topic and name whether these ideals are the same or different. An excellent topic sentence will characterize the difference or similarity.
The essay should be well-developed: Prove the validity of the topic sentence by using details and embedding chunks of quotes from Acts 1 and 2.
The essay will be unified and coherent. Select your characters carefully to build one single main point about Romeo and love. Move from one idea to next intentionally – create a flow.
Proofread the essay for comma usage.
Incorporate a compound sentence which balances two points equally to emphasize similarity or differences.
Use a sentence which subordinates some information to the main point in a complex sentence.
Use scholarly language and diction. Select just the right word to characterize attitudes.
