SAT and ACT Information

For more information, visit www.collegeboard.org or www.actstudent.org

  • College Board will help students prepare for the SATs with sample tests and free, low cost preparation materials.

  • Includes a student written essay, short[er] reading passages, content from third year college preparatory math, and quantitative comparisons.

  • SAT DOES NOT include analogies.

  • Students interested in attending the University of California system must take at least 2 SAT Subject Tests (SAT II).

  • ACT is based on skills and content learned in school such as verbal and science skills, while the SAT emphasizes basic aptitude and creative thinking like verbal and mathematical skills.

  • SAT and ACT ARE NOT given at ESHS but are available at Westchester H.S., Redondo Union H.S. and El Camino College- for more testing centers, please visit the College Board website.

  • FOR THOSE TRYING TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THE SAT AND ACT, TAKE BOTH- colleges will disregard the lesser score so there is no harm in taking both.
