4.Format for Presentation of Best Practice

1. Title of the Practice

The title should capture the key words that describe the Practice.

Audio visual facilities with a very good audio systems, LCD projector and interactive boards more than the smart class programmes are provided in the departments.

Career guidance cell under the guidance of Tmt C.Jyothi,Assistant professor of Computer Science, Employment / placement cell under the guidance of T.Muthyalu, Assistant Professor of Economics are looking after to help the students to get suitable employment.

Teachers are encouraged to do Ph.D. degree under difference schemes of UGC / DST.

Alumni association is active and development activities are under process with the guidance of Dr. V.Baskar Reddy, HOD, Telugu.

Spacious reading room is available and proposal for a administrative block with seminar hall and examination hall is already sanctioned with a tune of 1.46 crores.

Attempts will be made to introduce M.Phil course commerce and economics

2. Goal

PG level books are supplied to commerce and economics departments.

All the science departments laboratories are updated and augmented with a new equipment to suit changing syllabus for practical's.

A protected drinking water facility with reverse osmosis and refrigeration facility are available at a cost of 4 lakhs.

Students are taken to various places on Industrial and Educational tours and financial assistance of 3 lakhs provided to cope with the expenditure.
3. The Context

Describe any particular contextual features or challenging is success that have had to be addressed in designing and implementing the Practice in about 150words.



A centre operated by three coordinators to operate coaching classes for NET examination entry into services, to various Government departments and remedial coaching available using UGC merged schemes financial assistance (XI plan ) to a tune of 21 lakhs.

A well equipped multi language laboratory will be set up with the help of UGC financial assistance.

Sports facilities are exorbitantly available with a luxurious indore stadium namely GMC Balayogi stadium, sprinting ground 800 mtrs, swimming pool,tennis court and multi gym facility (UGC financial assistance to a tune of 6 lakhs installed in the college campus and Government funded is in the stadium campus).

Hostel facility is fully governed by Government of Puducherry where in BC hostel, SC hostel and working women’s hostel are available and so separate hostel facility is an excess one.
4. The Practice

Remedial courses are organized in a formal manner for the benefit of disadvantaged sections of the student community.

Value based education will be shortly implemented evolving a suitable mechanism in tie up with Pondicherry University and Government of Pondicherry.

The college has started giving much concentration on research and other extension activities. The teachers are encouraged to take up research projects attending seminars , workshops and other programmes.

Industry collaboration and linkage programmes will be enabled as soon as suitable industries send their LOI.

NCC for girls may be provided shortly.

Students attendance and progress are being computerized and will be available in the website as it is updated properly.

The College constituted “Internal Quality Assurance Cell” as per the guidelines of NAAC for quality assurance within the existing academic and administrative system. The function of IQAC is to fulfill the suggestions made by the Peer Team during the previous assessment. Keeping in view of the suggestions made by the Peer Team, the IQAC monitors the academic, administrative and developmental activities regularly. The IQAC prepares annual plan and monitors the implementation of the mster plan for five years and also is to be prepared by the IQAC in consultation with various departments and collegemanagement. Review meetings are conducted to review the progress of the activities.

Keeping in view the socio-economic environmental changes, the Institute expanded its Physical and Academic facilities for the inclusive growth of the students during these four years. The Institution expanded the Physical facilities by establishing computerlaboratory to B.Com and Mathematics. The Institution is organizing Remedial coaching classes for academically weaker students belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC Non-creamy layer and minorities.

The institute is provided Career Guidance andCounseling by UGC for job opportunities and admissions into higher studies. These activities are selected as Best practices by the Institution.

Government of puducherry has filled almost all the vacancy posts especially Mr. vijaya Palani Raja, Assistant Professor of English is posted to look after the Department of English.

Need based and applied courses e.g Tourism development technology and Operation theatre assistance courses were introduced in view with UGC/COP programmes and community college of Pondicherry University.

Internet facility is provided on priority basis to all the departments and office the campus is Wi-Fi enabled one using BSNL connectivity. The thanks goes to N.K.Sinha, who has sanctioned the 20 dedicated lines and the cost 75 percentage is borned by Government of India.

  1. The Government has speedily expedited the construction work of the new building and augmented with feasible infrastructure facility .

  2. Government of puducherry has filled almost all the vacancies.

  3. Central Computer facility is well established with a cost of 12 lakhs using UGC financial assistance 15 I7 computers , 12 I3 computers and Internet facility with interactive board and ICT materials are provided to the Department of computer science at the cost of 15 lakhs. Necessary steps are being initiated to start certificate/ diploma course in computer applications.

  4. Computerisation of library and office are completed with a total cost of 7 lakhs using UGC financial assistance.
