CP 9 Research Paper
Target Goal: I can follow the research steps to produce a clearly organized, fully supported essay using multiple valid sources.
Topic: Using the article provided and one article from InfOhio, describe ALS and its symptoms and treatment in order to determine how an incurable disease impacts life choices.
Example Thesis: Note that your thesis depends on your research and results.
Individuals with ALS develop a negative outlook as they navigate life with a devastating disease that has no cure.

The research paper will consist of a minimum of 2 pages of typed text and may not exceed 4 pages of typed text. This paper requires the use of two sources documented according to MLA guidelines. The process will include: source cards, note cards, an outline, a rough draft, and a final paper with a works cited page.
*All research papers will be submitted to turnitin.com. Those not submitted to turnitin.com will earn a zero since authenticity of work cannot be proven.
Important Dates:
April 27 (Monday) = Introduction to research, Noodletools, and InfOhio. Read article in class with annotations. *Homework: InfOhio tutorial and quiz.*

April 30 (Thursday) = In Computer Lab. Create rough draft using the outline provided. Use MLA format for paper. Use quote sheet for instructions.

April 28 (Tuesday) = In Computer Lab. Begin setting up Noodletools and complete notecards for Article #1 and search, find, and print article #2 (must be from InfOhio).

May 1 = (Friday) = In Computer Lab. Revise and edit paper. Create Works Cited and print.

April 29 (Wednesday) = In Computer Lab. Complete notecards in Noodletools for article #2. Create thesis statement.

Things to keep in mind: All papers must be shared with me in Google Docs and submitted to Turnitin. *Use transition sheets, active verb sheets, quotation sheets!!* Late papers will be penalized.
