SPECIAL NOTES!!!!

SINGING WITH THE GHC THIS SEASON? PLEASE NOTE!
If you have been coming to GHC practices, or you are starting late, and you haven’t yet let me know please do so right away. As always you can contact me at bill@gettinhigherchoir.ca or 250-920-4160. ~ Bill
GHC NO NUTS TUESDAYS
A Tuesday Tenor has made a strong request that no one bring anything to choir that contains any type or amount of nuts as she is extremely allergic to them. Even the smell on someone’s breath can trigger a anaphylactic reaction drastic negative results.
Please keep this request firmly in mind and make our GHC Tuesday practices an absolutely nut free time zone!

GHC NAME TAGS

Name tags will be available for new people at all GHC practices for the next couple of weeks.
Veterans and new people alike are encouraged to wear them at all practices.

POETRY WORKSHOP WITH DENIS

Over two sessions, Denis will gently guide you to deepen your own dialogue with the ancient and honoured poetic tradition. Working with poems mainly from the 20th century, he will explore the ways that poetry works both on the page and within us, and how it can enlighten and enliven our own passages.

Denis will focus mainly on poems that are inspired by the natural world. By considering such aspects of poetry as image, sound, form, syntax and allusion, we will seek to broaden into a tradition that, at its heart, carries the wisdom of humanity, if only we are able to find a way beyond its sometimes opaque surface.

Length: 1 evening, 1 day
Time: Fri Mar.20, 7pm 9pm; Sat Mar.21, 10am 5 pm
Cost: $125 + applicable taxes.

NEWSLETTER NOTES
NAVIGATING THE “COMMUNITY ISSUE” OF OUR NEWSLETTER
With over 1400 members of our extended choir community eligible to submit items to our newsletter it can get pretty long. If you like to read every word…go for it…if you don’t then…learn what’s where so you can go directly to, and only to, what interests you by:
Skimming through, looking at section headings only (large coloured type) and only stopping to explore those sections that are of interest to you.

Skimming through sections of interest, looking only at item titles and only stopping to read items whose titles catch your eye.

Whether you read every word or skim through keep in mind that some items you come across in the newsletter might be of interest to a family member, friend or associate and generously pass such items on. You will be doing both the recipient and the submitter a favour and you will probably generate some goodwill for yourself in the process.
