The S.R.S.V. College of Education will organise a two-day national conference on ‘Telugu teaching in the era of globalisation-trends and techniques' on January 5 and 6. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, College secretary and correspondent G. Gangadhar said the conference was aimed at creating awareness among would-be-teachers about mother tongue Telugu. The conference was first of its kind under Krishna and Acharya Nagarjuna University jurisdictions.
Eminent scholars from universities like Hyderabad Central University, Bangalore University, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) etc. would speak on trends and techniques in the light of globalisation.
0 Pammi Pavan Kumar of HCU would be preside over the conference, while noted linguists like Parimi Ramanarasimham, Challa Sriramachandra Murthy (BHU), and Telugu Text expert Tumati Sanjeeva Rao would address the gathering.
The historical town will play host to a three-day World Telugu meet from January 5. The meet “Prapanja Telugu Mahotsavam'' being organised by the Ramky foundation would bring together over 10,000 artistes, linguists and lovers of the sweet language from 13 countries, Ramky foundation Head (operations) M.V. Rami Reddy told reporters here.
Over 5,000 folk artistes from all over the State as also from different parts of the country would take part in the cultural events and showcase unity and diversity, the hallmark of Indian culture, the event convenor Papineni Sivashankar said.
