Though Science scores improved dramatically in the eighth grade, high school scores remained very low. This was partly due to the lack of a fully equipped science facility. It was also a function of rotating Biology and Physics classes in the ninth and tenth grade years. If the student had taken Biology as a freshman, it would have been almost a year since he had has any practice in the subject. Beginning in 2009-2010, Biology is offered in the tenth grade only.

PasPass rates in English Language Arts for first-time CAHSEE takers have consistently met or exceeded district or state averages since 2006. Pass rates in math have not been as high, but have averaged over 50% since the school’s opening.
