Remembrance Day Poster, Literature and Video Contest
Last year Gordon Graydon Sr PS had several students participate in the annual Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day poster and literature contest. This was a great opportunity for students to participate in the act of remembrance, showcase their talent and earn house points. Several students from GGSPS placed in the top 3 for Legion Zone and earned prize money.
This year GGSPS will be participating in the contest again. This time a video category has also been included fpr Grade 7 and 8 students. Students must submit their entries to the office by November 1st, 2013. Details are below:
Contest in General
Each entry will earn 10 house points. The school will judge who they feel is 1st, 2nd and 3rd place to award 50, 100 and 150 house points respectively. All submissions will be sent to the Legion for their contest.
Contestants are challenged to exercise their creativity and create a poster, video or write an essay and/or poem on Remembrance. This is a contest to select the most suitable posters, essays and poems submitted by students in the Canadian school system. The posters, essays and poems will be judged at the local Branch and then at the Provincial level.
