What is the project about?

You will be creating an ideal room in a home. You must make a visual representation as well as create a written description of the house. Your visual representation can be a model, diorama, collage, power point, paper drawing, photograph, architectural drawing, etc.


What must the house contain?

Your illustration must contain:



  1. a complete layout of your ideal room

  2. label at least 15 words in Spanish


What are the written description requirements?

Your written description must include:



  1. An introductory paragraph describing your home, the rooms (living room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc.) and where your home is located (city/state/country).

  • Don’t forget that wonderful verb: hay (–there is/there are) when giving a list of things in the rooms.

  • Don’t forget to use un/una for a/an

  • Use ser for descriptions & estar for locations




  1. A detailed description of your ideal room in your house




  1. You should use both the verb ser (descriptions) and the verb estar (locations) in your sentences.

  • Once the rough draft is done in class the description may be hand written or typed for the final draft.

  • You are expected to know how to describe your room and the items in it and will be permitted only to bring your visual representation with you to present & an index card

  • You can only use an index card with a 2 -hint words for each thing you will talk about.


Will we have class time for this?

You will have time in class to brainstorm, look up and check vocabulary, and begin your written description. Your visual representation will be done outside of class as well as any writing you cannot complete in the allotted class time.

A class work grade will be given for time spent on task for this project. Teacher will be walking around helping clarify expectations & directions.
