Home of Outstanding Olympians

Citius Altius Fortius

Faster Higher Stronger

OLYMPIAN ALMA MATER

Between the mountains and the seas, there stands a school most fair.

Each room and hall and bench and tree, bespeaks the love we bear.

To Leuzinger we pledge anew, a faith that cannot fail.

May the echoes reach the skies of blue!

All hail! All hail! All hail!

Principal’s Message

August 2012

Welcome to the start of the 2012 – 2013 school year at Leuzinger High School. As the new principal, I hope to share with you the academic, social, and athletic benefits of our school. Leuzinger High School is quickly becoming a place where young men and women come to learn more about themselves, their community and to prepare themselves for the realities of higher education, work and citizenship in today’s society. Leuzinger High School and its rich history and tradition, holds tightly to founding principles while reaching into the future and embracing new ideas.

We pride ourselves on high academic standards and on the accessibility of a rigorous curriculum for all students. With increased expectations in every class because of the competition to attain acceptance into four year colleges, we encourage all students to read all classroom material thoroughly. It is my belief that all students benefit through their involvement in school life, therefore a strong emphasis is placed on student participation in activities beyond the classroom. Whether in sports, clubs, or community projects, our young men and women know the value of educating the whole person. Olympians take pride in working and playing together, and in serving the community. I hope that all students join an activity that interests them.

Finally, I want to again encourage everyone to get involved beyond the specific booster clubs for sports, band, or cheer to participate in school wide supports. Please consider attending WASC, SSC, Title I or ELAC meetings. Having teachers get involved helps all our students. You are a valuable member of our Learning Community. I encourage and depend on you to take an active and supportive role in your student’s education. I look forward to your continued support and personal involvement in the weeks and months ahead.

Thank you for your continued support of all our students’ education at Leuzinger,

Mr. Michael Ono

Principal

All Olympian graduates will be eligible to attend a four-year college or university. Our students will leave Leuzinger High School with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to be successful in any postsecondary education environment. They will have a strong sense of what occupation they would like to pursue as a career, and will have received guidance as to which post-secondary institutions, training programs, or industries will best fit their personal goals.
