If God can give me a super power, I would want it to be nothing. Why did God create humanity, no one knows. But, God gave us power to achieve the great things we have achieved and to the wrongdoings we have done. God gave humanity power, skill, life, and many other gifts that no one would notice today. As someone once said, “I know God won’t give me anything I can’t handle. I just wish he didn't trust me so much”.
As mentioned throughout folklores, fables, and stories of almost every nation and religion, when we want something that makes us powerful or special in anyway, it will cause problems. The Ancient Greeks showed this in the myth of King Midas, who received the power to turn anything to gold, which in a way, made him lose everything he wanted from his children to his food. This is seen in even modern history. As Germany wanted to reclaim land that it lost from the previous World War, it laid the seeds for an entirely different World War, which in the end, claimed the lives of many Germans. Humanity does not need any gift from God other than the ones he already gave.
We are not the only gifts God created. He created many others from trees to animals to even tiny insects, but humanity is not accepting it. Industrialization is leading to the deforestation of once abundant forests to the endangering of animals and insects, including humans. Illegal hunting of animals has lessened the population of many species leading them to countable figures. Human trafficking, such as kidnapping, is even ruining the lives of humans too. Many related problems are also occurring worldwide as we speak. But God gave the power to humans, some might say, but this proves that we don't deserve anymore due to the negativity some of us are causing.
To condense matters, we do not need any more than what we receive. Even those who are disabled have a reason in life, one that we should not tamper with. If one person out of all has been “chosen by God” to be given some super power, inferiority would increase in the remaining which would also cause problems. Jealousy is a cause of problems behind many of the bad affairs in our history, even making its way to this century or the so called, “era of equality”. Many religions, even those who are atheist, know that if there is a God, he would care about everyone unless they do a wrongdoing and never rehabilitate from it.
In conclusion, if God gave me a super power, it would be nothing. God already gave humanity enough gifts and the rest of nature, which we are not appreciating. Also, God cares about all, and if one person gets chosen by others, it would lead to problems including distrust in God himself. As the great pastor Charles Stanley once said, “[God] is always there to encourage our hearts and help us understand that He’s sufficient for all our needs…”
