Today, many of us live an inactive lifestyle, therefore, doing some physical activity to keep ourselves healthy is very important. In my opinion, I support the view that physical education should be mandatory for schoolchildren.

The first reason for this is because physical education helps to improve the health of students, balance the calories, develop the human body, specifically fitness and movement skills. In fact, exercise supply adequate Oxygen to muscles and help them improve their strengths. Physical activities can decrease the risk of chronic diseases such as heart attack, strokes, diabetes and the largest concern of western countries: obesity. In addition, physical activities can act as an aid to prevent students from excessive time spent on their electronic devices.

Furthermore, there is some beneficial impact of physical education on children's mental health. It helps students to improve their mental health, mood, and especially teamwork. For example, most of the sports at school require the team members to co-ordinate and encourage students to achieve the common goal of winning the game. Moreover, making physical education mandatory will benefit those students who have a natural talent for sport. Schoolchildren will have a chance to participate in various kinds of sports at school, they can choose the one they feel good at.

In conclusion, physical education is necessary for schoolchildren and it must be made a part of the school curriculum along with other important subjects.
