Program of Research and/or Focus of Original Creative Work
My research focuses on Brazilian and Latin American cultural studies with an emphasis on the work of women writers and filmmakers. In broad terms, I am interested in the ways in which women have portrayed themselves and how others have portrayed them in a variety of media from the mid-nineteenth century to the present.
