|2014 St. Louis Park High School Scholarship Application Information
Scholarship application can be found on the St. Louis Park Dollars for Scholars website: stlouispark.dollarsforscholars.org in the “Students and Parents” tab.
Applications are due by 3:30 pm on Friday, March 21st, 2013.
There will be two computer ‘help’ sessions in Room C153 during 5th hour on March 18th and 20th.
Students can only receive one scholarship from St. Louis Park Dollars for Scholars
Awards night is Wednesday, May 28th, students receiving awards will be notified by mail.
All students must provide Goals and Aspirations essay (in the Goals and Aspirations tab)
All students must provide essay on question “What personal strength(s) you have gained from your experiences from either St. Louis Park High School or the St. Louis Park community-at-large? What would a scholarship mean to you?” Upload essay in the Documents tab.
Students are required to have a recommendation by a person of their choosing. Make sure that you talk to the person you are asking to do a recommendation prior to providing contact information.
Students must click on the “Submit App” for any scholarship they want to be considered for.
Note for Parents
For parents of students who are under 18, please log-in online to give consent to allow St. Louis Park Dollars for Scholars to consider your student for scholarships. This must be done before your student will be able to apply for any scholarships. Once your student applies for parent consent, you will receive an email from Scholarship America to provide consent, if you do not receive email, check your spam folder. Please contact Ms. Nelson if you do not have email/computer access.
Since some scholarships are based on financial need, any information provided will help us determine eligibility or better understand your circumstances will be useful, this information will remain confidential.

All questions with 2 asterisks (**) must be answered. Ones with 1 asterisks (*) do not need to be answered, but will affect the percent complete in profile bar.
When creating an account use:
School: St. Louis Park High School (with period)
City: Saint Louis Park (Saint spelled out)
School District: St. Louis Park Public School District (with period)
Once your account has been created, make sure that you are connected to:

TEST SCORES Profile Bar
Test scores are not used to determine St. Louis Park scholarship awards.
ACTIVITIES Profile Bar
Fill out all sports, clubs, community service, arts, music and church activities you wish to have considered. Use 100 hours for varsity sports as the “Total hours spent on this activity per year”

Students have the option to include financial information in their profile. This is not required for St. Louis Park scholarships, but may be required for outside scholarships.
ESSAYS Profile Bar
An essay on Goals and Aspirations is required for all applications. An essay about any Unusual Circumstances is optional, but may be used to tell the awards committee other things that you might want considered.
REFERENCES/TRANSCRIPTS Profile Bar
Transcript requests are not required for a SLP Dollars for Scholars scholarship.
All students must have a recommendation by a person of their choosing. Once you add reference information, click “Request Recommendation”. All recommendation requests will come from Scholarship America via email, you should notify the person that you are getting your recommendation from that the request has been made.
NOTE: It may take several days for a recommendation response. Please make your request for a recommendation as soon as you can to make sure it can get done before the deadline.
-Answer all eligibility questions; submit answers to the custom questions.
-Click “View” to see detail of scholarships
-Click “Submit App” to complete application submittal for any one you wish to be considered for. There are many scholarships that all students are eligible for.
-Some scholarships require additional essays and/or references and must be completed before scholarship can be submitted.
